For the first time in Italy, a trademark DOC ensure the quality of product in terms of thermal origin, chemical, physical, biological and protocol use.

For the first time in the history of national spas, mud uniqueness and quality are safeguarding.
The thermal mud of Abano and Montegrotto, thanks to all the natural elements of solids, liquids and biological elements, is unique. Most notably is called Phormidium ETS05I SP, is a cyanobacterium that for its proven anti-inflammatory already holds a European patent - deposited at the Pasteur Institute of Paris - which has helped to classify the thermal mud of Abano and Montegrotto as natural medicine .

To ensure the originality and quality of the thermal mud of Abano and Montegrotto, University of Padua made a semi-annual monitoring to check the origin and the ripening process of the mud.
From today we add to this, by the will of the Province of Padua and the Veneto Region, the name Mud DOC - Collective Source Designation - a major step forward in the protection and guarantee of spa and mud product quality of the Terme di Abano Montegrotto.

The label "Mud DOC" is a distinctive and exclusive of Abano and Montegrotto.

The adoption of the mark provides that a technical committee attended the University of Padova, CNR, Regione Veneto, Provincia di Padova and Centro Studi Pietro d'Abano screens constantly certification parameters of the mud defining requirements quality necessary to achieve and maintain over time the brand Mud DOC.
